Instructional Time: Unit 5: Exodus 21 - Leviticus 22

- After the 10 commandments, God begins to give Israel many other laws. Read Exodus 21:22-25 to see some of these and then answer these questions
- - 1) How are verses 24-25 good? (Think about what it ‘keeps from happening’)
- - 2) How could someone ‘use them’ in a bad way? (Think of how you might ‘use it’ if someone did something to you)
- - 3) Does God consider the unborn child its own life? Explain what these verses say about that issue. (Consider what happens if a child comes out and is harmed)
- Skim over Exodus 21:12-36 and find a different law that, for you, matches each of the descriptions below:
- - 4) You think is very important to have
- - 5) You think wouldn’t help
- - 6) You didn’t expect to find
- - 7) You think is odd
- - 8) You wish we had today

A Discussion on the Law:
- We discussed some of the different laws, looking especially at how they related to the Greatest Commandment, to love God with our all; and the second one--to love our neighbor as ourselves. 
- Then we worked on page 8.
