Exodus 1-4 – Theology & Anthropology - Israel Grows, Egypt Attacks, God Prepares) Page 3
Theology:
- - God blesses us when we stand up for Him
- - God’s personal name is “I AM”
- - - Jesus claims this as His name, too—He claims to be God!
- - - “Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.”  The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?”  Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I am!” - John 8:56-58
- - God doesn’t forget or fail in His promises
- - God has concern for us when we suffer
Anthropology:
- - We can be powerfully used by God, for His good, even if we have a bad history, we are full of weakness & we don’t have much to offer (e.g. only a staff).
- - Men & women can be powerfully used by God
- - We will be judged for sins we don’t repent from
- - We must obey God even if our leaders command us not to.
- - We should protect human life, even babies
- - We should protect our family
- - The right response to knowing God’s concern for us is belief & worship
