Reminders:
- Service Project: The 10 hours, 2 forms, and 1 essay are due on Apr 23, 2017
- Devotion 1 Presentation: Be ready to present on your day! See class schedule.
- Devotion 2: Due Jan 8, Take lessons learned from Devotion 1 as you write this. Re-read the instructions (this lists your Devotion 2 Book Choices). Start this early to make it good!
Instructional Time: Unit 5: Exodus 21 - Leviticus 22- Devotion 2: Due Jan 8, Take lessons learned from Devotion 1 as you write this. Re-read the instructions (this lists your Devotion 2 Book Choices). Start this early to make it good!
Journal 5-1: Study Packet, Pages 11 & 13
- Take out your Study Packet (Remember, right now it starts on page 3, notes for next week’s quiz “Proverbs 16…”)
- Turn to page 11
- - Look at the picture of the Tabernacle
- - Read about the different parts & pieces
- On page 13, as Journal 5-1, answer these:
- - 1) What was the Tabernacle used for?
- - 2) What are three ways the Tabernacle ‘points toward Jesus’? (especially look at the bottom section)
- - 3) Write down one or more questions that you still have about the Tabernacle.
- All done? Preview page 12 & “The Tabernacle Film Worksheet” (we will answer these questions today...)
After this I went over some of the reminders listed above. Then we introduced the new unit!
Exodus 21-24: Various Laws: Study Packet, Page 2
- Various Laws:
- - God just initiated the His covenant w/Israel
- - - Remember, a covenant is “an agreement between two or more that defines their relationship”
- - - An older word for ‘covenant’ is ‘testament’
- God is making the “Old Testament”
- - This is what the first half of our Bible focuses on!
- God then gave specific laws
- - These showed Israel how to follow His 10 Commandments (Cs) in many different life situations
