- Theology:
- - God initiates covenants to define His relationship w/people
- - God takes sin seriously, they have serious consequences!
- - God does not give us permission to take revenge
- - God is a consuming fire:
- - - He is ultimately beautiful & holy
- - - He has destructive wrath (justice) on unrepentant sinners
- Anthropology:
- - Obedience is the right response to God for His covenants
- - Holiness & godliness involves all areas of our life
- - Legal punishments are limited to match the crime
- - - You can only take an “eye for an eye”, you can’t kill them!
- - The unborn (children) are their own life
- - - If you attack a pregnant lady and the unborn child dies, you are punished under the “life for a life” law!
