Covenant Renewal:
- Moses leads Israel to renew their covenant with God
- - Israel is reminded that disobedience will lead to great loss (29)
- - Israel is called to obey God so that they may experience life & prosperity instead of death and adversity (30)
- "...I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life..." (30:19b-20a)' Last Words:
- Moses reminds Israel that God will fight for them
- - As Joshua leads them into the Promised Land (31-32)
- Joshua and Israel are to... "Be strong and courageous," because "It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”" (31:7–8)

Moses' death:

Theology:
- God does not make people follow Him, He gives them the choice
- God helps us repent from our sins
- God raises up the leaders that His people need
Anthropology:
- Obedience to God will enrich our lives
- Disobedience to God leads to more problems in life
- There is always the opportunity of forgiveness and healing from sin
