Journal 2-4: Open your Study Packet to pg 9, read the notes about “Fearing the Lord” & then answer these questions on page 12:
- 1) What ‘types’ (e.g. Terror, etc…) of ‘fearing the Lord’ do you think God wants us to most have? Explain.
- 2) Select 3 of the affects of fearing the Lord that are listed. For each of them, use a sentence to describe how you think ‘fearing the Lord’ can lead to that effect.
- 3) In 2 sentences of your own words, summarize how a believer lives out ‘fearing the Lord’ in their life.
- 4) Explain why a believer in a good relationship with God wouldn’t need to be terrified of God

- Progressive Revelation: God will often slowly reveals His plan over time- God blesses us:
- - Even through very hard situations
- - Even when we don't deserve it
- - By applying His righteousness to us through our faith (belief that is paired with real trust)
- - By taking the death penalty that we earned by breaking God's covenant (Jesus' death on the cross)

- We should flee from evil,
- - Even if it looks really good to us
- - E.g. Sodom looked good to Lot
- We can never earn God's blessings
- - We can only receive them as gifts
- We should patiently trust in God's timing
- - Don't try to 'get ahead of' or 'speed up' God's plan
