- Today, Students should all be in my TurnItIn.com class
- Book Report Key Due-Dates: Title & Author (Mon, Sep. 11, written on a paper in class), Pre-Reading Form (Mon, Sep. 25, @ start of class), Book Report/Project (Mon, Nov. 13, report on TurnItIn.com / Art @ start of class)
Journal: On today's new handout
- Part of this creation includes the animals!
- - As we get ready for that, consider… “If you could create your own animal, what would it be?”
- On this handout…
- - Draw your new animal!
- - Describe your new animal!
- These papers will be displayed in the classroom for a while
- - Use color and make them good!
- Students were allowed to take this home & work on it this weekend if they wanted to put some nice finishing touches on it. I will provide some time in class on Monday to complete it before collecting it (no more than 10 minutes).
Book Report: I handed out these instructions & we talked through this assignment. Here are a few key reminders:
- Key Due Dates: See the "Reminders" above
- Remember the rules about what TYPE of book you must get (e.g. it *cannot* be fiction)
- You can get a book through several places:
- - Try our school library, a church library, a pastor/youth worker, a friend, or your own home.
- - Your Bible teacher has a selection of books that he will let kids check out (starting next week)
- - Try visiting a Christian bookstore (e.g. LifeWay Christian Store at 1375 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose, CA)
- - Go to www.christianbook.com.
- - - Click on the ‘teens’ category on the far left
- - - - You can find some good books in these sub-categories: Apologetics, Christian Living, Issues, Personal Growth, Relationships, Sports
- - - - Be careful that they still meet the assignment requirements!
- - - If you order your book online, do so soon! Shipping can be delayed and if you order late and your book is not here on time, your Pre-Reading Form will be late.
