Instructional Time: Unit 1 - Genesis

Introductory Bible Quiz:
- Questions 1-5) These were personal questions that helped me get to know students more.
- Question 6) “Holy Bible” =
- - Holy: Set-apart (as in the greatest book ever! Perfect & complete more than any other!)
- - Bible: Books (from the Greek word, "biblion”)
- - : Christians use this term to refer to their Scriptures because we believe that God spoke through the people who wrote these books in a special & unique way to reveal to all who want to know God who God is, how to have a relationship with Him, and what He expects of us.
- Question 7) Bible Sections:
- - Old Testament: 39 books +
- - New Testament: 27 books = 66 total books in the Bible
- Question 8) What started the New Testament, (NT)?
- - Jesus came!
- - "The Gospels" is the name of the first 4 books in the NT, they share the story of Jesus.
- - The rest of the New Testament share what happened next & help explain what it means to us.
- Question 9) How to find a Bible book?
- - Use the Table of Contents (page iii for the list of books in order of how they appear in the Bibile & page iv for the list of books in alphabetical order)
- Question 10) Summarize what these verses share about the Bible: Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 19:10-11
- - Please read these verses to better understand & summarize them.  They each help us to understand the power & purpose of the Bible

Syllabus Review: With the rest of class we began to go through the syllabus more.
