Rebellion!
- Chapter 16) Rebellion! Led by Korah (a Levite) w/250 tribe leaders!

- - - The groundswallows up’ Korah & his direct followers
- - - The 250 others are consumed by fire!
- - 41-50) The people blame Moses for these deaths…

Settling Korah's Rebellion:
- A cause of Korah’s rebellion was this complaint:
Why does Aaron get to lead the priests?
- Read Numbers 17:1-11
- - How did God show who He choose? He will cause his staff to bud
- - - Who did He choose? Aaron!
- - - Describe what happened. Aaron’s Staff sprouted, budded, blossomed, & produced almonds!
- - - Why is this odd? Old dead pieces of wood don't have this happen...

Numbers 20:
- 20:1-5) Miriam Dies & …
- - Lacking water, the people again complain because they don't have water
- 20:6-8) God commands Moses is to speak to the rock & water will come!
- 20:9-13) But Moses sins by striking the rock instead! (see handout, p28)
- - Moses lets his anger & pride get the better of him.
- - God disciplines Moses for this by not allowing him to enter the Promised Land
- 20:14-21) Edom denies Israel passage through their land, so Israel must go around.
- 20:23-29) Aaron Dies

A Loss, A Victory, Complaints, & A Snake:
- 21:1-3) Israel loses to & then wins against Arad

- 21:4-9) Israel is impatient, hating manna, & speaking against God & Moses
- - God sent poisonous snakes
- - Moses creates a Bronze Snake, put on a pole
- - - Looking to it will save you!
- - - How is the Bronze Snake like Jesus?
- - - - See John 3:14-15 (NIV), "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.a]">"
- - - - By believing in God & physically looking at the Bronze Snake, one would be healed & saved from death
- - - - By believing in God & spiritually looking at Jesus (following Him in faith), one is spiritually healed & saved from spiritual death!
